The Jako Quartet is the new project of Berlin-based Greek guitarist Iakovos ‘Jako’ Symeonidis.
The band plays original compositions by Symeonidis and pieces from his debut album ‘Safe Place’, songs from the jazz tradition and arrangements from funk and soul.
The band plans to record a new album in early 2025.
The band’s goal is to engage the audience in the best possible way by combining swing, afro and funk grooves.
Finally, the band seeks to attract a new audience to jazz music and share the
enthusiasm for improvisation, spontaneity and freedom that jazz brings.
